XPD Race 2008

A equipa GLOBAZ.PT - POLISPORT está de parabéns!!!

Então não é que os moços foram ao XPD e conseguiram um 10º lugar, depois de estarem em 8º durante quase toda a prova!?!? Isto num evento internacional de 5 dias e 700km, no meio de 31 equipas em que apenas 5 eram portuguesas. Uns verdadeiros prozaços internacionais portantos!
A acompanhá-los esteve a Elo Saue, Campeã Nacional de Orientação da Estónia, pois as equipas tinham que ter 4 elementos sendo um deles, obrigatoriamente, feminino. Ouvi dizer que esta senhora corria de caraças!!! Parabéns também para ela, como é óbvio! Quanto mais não seja por aturar estes 3 estarolas tantas horas seguidas! Aqui está ela em acção com o Lino, mas com muito mais estilo... LOL :)
Para apimentar ainda mais a coisa, a equipa teve a honra de aparecer numa reportagem do SleepMonsters, que é o site internacional de referência destas lides das Corridas de Aventura! Isto no dia mais estratégico da prova e que decidiu a classificação final... Ora vejam o excerto:

9am Wednesday at Coruche Sports Hall was the closing time for stage 3 section 4 of the race, and this morning deadline would prove critical in deciding the race winners. This was the point at which it became clear strength and speed were not enough to win XPD Portugal, careful strategy was required. Any team missing the deadline had to ride directly to Assistance Area 3 in Cartaxo, which was the end of stage 3. In doing so they would miss sections 5 and 6 of Stage 3, losing the chance to score 7 ‘mandatory’ checkpoints.…. the top 6 teams on scoring after stage two ALL missed this critical deadline.Team Finland, Uge Cyanosis, Buff Coolmax, Castilla y Leon es Vida - SOLE, Navigator Suunto and Adventureteam DK all failed to arrive in time (...) Teams which had taken direct routes and missed much of the course were arriving at Coruche before midnight and through the early hours of the morning but as 9am approached the support crews for the leaders could be seen pacing the car park between the sports centre and the local bull ring and anxiously looking along the road for signs of their team.At 8.55 a team was seen sprinting in and their spirits were raised, but it was not one of the leaders. It was Team Globaz.PT – Polisport of Portugal, who had been in 10th place after stage two. The team were delighted to make it in time and said they’d been racing flat out for the past two hours and it was really important to them.

Ora vamos lá fazer umas contas... A prova começou no domingo às 10:00 e isto passou-se às 09:00 de 4ª feira, sendo que de permeio, a equipa dormiu umas estonteantes 2h e uns trocos. Isto quer dizer que eles fizeram um sprint de 2h(!!!) após quase 70h de prova ininterrupta com 2h de sono pelo meio, para chegarem a horas onde nenhuma das equipas do top6 chegou e só mais duas equipas com percurso similar chegaram........ CUM CAR****!!! :))

Vibrei à brava com a vossa prova que acompanhei on line, mesmo quando estive em viagem esta semana. Parabéns Adelino, Hugo e Jorge Xará(aka Gato)!!!
